We believe that real-world testing is the only way to accurately evaluate a robot vacuum. Our rigorous testing methodology includes:

• Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance: We test each robot in a simulated home environment filled with common obstacles like cables, shoes, and pet toys to see how well it adapts.
• Debris Pickup: We measure pickup efficiency on both hard floors and carpets using a precise mix of sand, cereal, and pet hair.
• Mopping Performance: For hybrid models, we test their ability to remove dried-on stains and measure how effectively they avoid soaking carpets.
• App Experience: We evaluate the companion app for usability, feature richness, and reliability.
• Maintenance & Self-Emptying: We analyze how truly "hands-off" the docking stations are, evaluating self-emptying, mop washing, and drying features.

Our team consists of home tech enthusiasts, engineers, and everyday users who are passionate about smart home automation. We purchase many of the vacuums we test ourselves, and when manufacturers send us review units, we maintain complete editorial independence. No brand pays us for a positive review.
